Dame Judith hails from fourteenth century England, traveling in her special “time machine” called The Imagination.  Dame Judith is a “gossip,” or storyteller.  Gossips didn’t have the same social status as bards or troubadours. They were the women who told stories (sometimes embellished a bit) in their own homes or communities.

In this program, Dame Judith shares some information about Medieval times, as well as telling a King Arthur legend, a fairy tale, a tale about dragons, and sings a ballad (accompanying herself on the bowed psaltery) about Robin Hood. listen
